One of the most fascinating series of books that have been written about sailing and sailing ships (in my opinion) was written by a gentleman named C. S. Forrester. Over a period of 25 years he wrote 11 novels about an English sailor who rose from midshipman to admiral. The sailor is the subject of today’s FamSite.

Called the Horatio Hornblower Fan Page, this site is dedicated to the television series on the cable network Arts and Entertainment. But beyond the four episodes that series encompassed, this site acts as a magnet for fans of the books, and all aspects of the Hornblower saga. Here you can find out about the books, read interviews with the actors of the show, visit with other fans, read about C.S. Forester, and other enjoyable items. There are links to other sites, a quiz, and a chance to read about and participate in outings with other fans. Currently you can read about a trip some fans took to the ship that served as an integral part of the series.

So get on your oilskins, and get ready to weigh anchor and set the mainsail. This is a seaworthy site that all cyber landlubbers will enjoy. Hope your sea legs are ready for the trip.
